Panama Papers might be the biggest offshore tax evasion scandal in history. The Panama Papers exposes the background of the scandal, with Süddeutsche Zeitung journalists explaining how it all began. Is independent, socially engaged journalism still possible in our times as media outlets fight for survival on the market? OKO.press journalist Bartosz Kocejko is going to discuss these issues with Bastian Obermayer, head investigative reporter at Süddeutsche Zeitung and the protagonist of The Panama Papers. The OKO.press portal partnered with the festival’s Fourth Eye section on the role of engaged journalism.
