KAROLINA BIELAWSKA

National Geographic Best Photo Competition juror. A graduate of the movie direction department at the University of Silesia’s Faculty of Radio and Television, she studied under the guidance of Andrzej Wajda, Wojciech Marczewski, and other eminent Polish filmmakers. Bielawska directed a number of feature films and documentaries screened and recognized in Poland and abroad. Her latest work, “Call Me Marianna”, won 27 festival awards – in Krakow, Locarno, Barcelona, Tel Aviv, Los Angeles, Chicago, and elsewhere. Recipient of the 2016 Charles E. Guggenheim Emerging Artist Award for best directorial debut. Nominated to the Passport of “Polityka” Magazine award in 2015 in the filmmaking category, as well as the Polish Film Academy’s Eagles award in 2017.
