The true story behind a 2018 mountain expedition whose aim was to reach K2 in winter – for the first time in history. The expedition is led by mountaineering veterans and legends: Krzysztof Wielicki, Adam Bielecki and Denis Urubko. The mission is interrupted by a tragedy taking place on the Nanga Parbat peak nearby. Bielecki and Urubko manage to rescue Elisabeth Revol, a trapped French climber. Her mountaineer companion Tomasz Mackiewicz is left to stay on the mountain forever. This operation was one of the most extraordinary rescue actions performed in the history of mountaineering.
