Tuesday 14th May | 8:15 p.m. | Kinoteka 4
Meeting with Benedetta Barzini and Beniamino Baresse after the screening of “The Disappearance of My Mother” by Beniamino Barrese
In Polish and English

An iconic fashion model in the 1960s, she was the cover girl of the first issue of Italian “Vogue” in 1965 and subsequently became a muse to Andy Warhol, Irving Penn, and Richard Avedon. As a radical feminist in the 1970s, she fought for the rights and emancipation of women, joined the Communist Party, and criticized sexism of the fashion industry. At the age of 75, fed up with all the roles that life has imposed upon her, Barzini  left everything and everyone behind to live on a desert island. Worried by that decision, her son Beniamino witnessed and documented her journey. The meeting with Benedetta Barzini and Beniamino Barrese will be a unique occasion to discover their fascinating relationship and the pros and cons of the fashion industry.
